A familiar face in a story to share

Valentine's Day book gifts for kids and the people they love

For a Valentine's Day book gift, choose the relationship the child enjoys reading about: their own dog, a little friend who needs help, or a grown-up sharing an adventure. The Runaway Sheep, Tiny Friends and Big State Road Trip offer those different stories. They are everyday books that can be given with a Valentine's dedication, rather than stories about the holiday itself.

Tiny Friends

Behind the bookshelf is a door no taller than a hand, and on its mat a letter the size of a stamp with your child's name on it. One small handshake with a mouse, and your child is mouse-sized: the tiny friends need their big friend tonight.

Big State Road Trip

Choose a relationship already part of their day

The Runaway Sheep brings the child and their own dog into a Fair Day rescue. Tiny Friends follows a mouse's invitation and a child helping carry a picnic invitation to a shy neighbor. Big State Road Trip puts one child and a grown-up together with an old camera. Choose the particular shared experience you want the book to celebrate.

Check who is illustrated from a photo

The dog story supports the child's photo and the dog's photo or description. Tiny Friends centers one child with fictional little friends. The road trip uses a photo of the child and one of the chosen grown-up. Those are different casts; a message in the dedication does not add another illustrated person.

Let the dedication carry the occasion

Name a walk with the dog, a small kindness or a place you enjoy together. The plot does not need hearts or a Valentine's party for the gift to feel personal. Read the available sample, check the exact age range and allow time to review your own pages before print approval. The offer is the hardcover, rather than props pictured alongside it.

Questions before giving the book.

Are these Valentine's Day stories?

They are everyday friendship, dog and family-adventure stories. Your dedication can make the gift for Valentine's Day; it does not insert a holiday scene into the plot.

Can my child's real dog star beside them?

The Runaway Sheep is designed for that pair. Add the child's photo and the dog's photo or description, then inspect both illustrated characters in your own pages.

Can two grown-ups appear in the road-trip book?

Big State Road Trip supports one child and one grown-up. It does not add two adults or multiple children to that edition.
