Both of you belong in the picture

Choose the child-and-Grandma or child-and-Grandpa cast and add one clear photo of each person. The grown-up appears beside the child in the personalized expedition scenes. One child and one grown-up is the supported cast; this edition does not put several grandchildren into one Atlas.

Something to read before your next walk

At about 6 to 8, read the expedition passages aloud and look for animals together. Older children can read the reference text and point out what they discover. You do not need to visit every habitat to use the book; the home-state chapter gives you a place to begin talking about nearby landscapes.

Leave room for their own discoveries

The optional Field Notebook carries the child's name and home state. Its 23 log-and-sketch pairs have room for the date, weather, sightings and a drawing. Bring it back to the same place later and compare what you noticed on the two visits.

The softcover Field Notebook open to an observation log and facing sketch grid on a pale oak desk with a fern and green pencil; the writing and drawing spaces are blank

Bring back a discovery of their own

The next pages can be theirs to fill.

The optional 56-page Field Notebook has 23 pairs of observation logs and sketch pages, with the child's name and home state. A separate softcover, made to take outside.

The notebook is an optional add-on. Styling props are not included.

Can both grandparents be in one Atlas?

This Atlas supports one child alone or one child with one grown-up: Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa. Choose one grown-up for this edition.

Do the child and grandparent need a photo together?

Use a separate clear photo of each person. They do not need to appear together in one photograph.

Is the grandparent included in the base price?

Yes. Choosing one supported grown-up beside the child does not add a cast fee. The plant pages and separate notebook are optional paid upgrades.
