Santa lands in the garden and his littlest reindeer runs off to hide. He can't go without her, and he needs both of them to find her.

Santa knows both their names. A child and their grandparent find his missing reindeer together, in a Christmas keepsake starring them both.

In Save Christmas, a map, lantern and bell fail to help Santa through the fog. The child notices the dog following a familiar path, and the pair lead Santa from house to house. The dog is based on a photo or written description. Check the child's character as well as the dog's coat, markings and ears in your own pages.
Two children or a child and grandparent
Santa's Missing Reindeer has separate editions for those casts. In the two-child story, both children contribute to finding the little reindeer; neither part depends on being taller or older. In the grandparent edition, the child follows the clues and the grandparent has saved oats. Choose the intended edition before collecting the photos. Adding another name to a one-character field does not add a person.
Choose a holiday read-aloud they will return to
Something Small is a snowy holiday story about a child making a gift by hand. It offers a different plot from the Santa rescues. Read the available pages and compare each title's published age range, amount of text and cast. An everyday dog, sports or nature book can also be a Christmas present if that is the reading experience the child enjoys.

Questions before giving the book.
Can two siblings star together in one Christmas book?
Yes. The two-child edition of Santa's Missing Reindeer is designed for two children, each illustrated from their own photo. It also works for two cousins or friends.
Can my child's actual dog appear?
Save Christmas supports the child's photo and the dog's photo or description. It is a different cast from the two-child reindeer book.
Is the grandparent edition the same as the sibling edition?
They share the reindeer search but have different casts and roles. The grandparent edition features one child and one grandparent, illustrated from separate photos.
Do all Christmas gifts need a Christmas plot?
No. A book about the child's everyday interest can be the present. Choose a Christmas story when you want the celebration in the plot, and an everyday title when you want a different kind of shared read.
